Actually, it looks like I'm on kind of a roll here (if you saw yesterday's drawing). I'm not, really. This was in one of my old sketchbooks from 2007 & I just got a kick out of it, what with Iowa's new landmark gay marriage ruling & the slow crumbling of all the old guard holds dear...
This is a really good example of how my drawings & writings work. It's a full page, scanned as is. Most of my work unfolds as variations on a theme. I start with a couple of lines drawn loosely with the pen & see what it reminds me of. I spin off pretty rapidly from there (as I've mentioned before) galloping off madly in all directions at once.
Here's the working sequence on this one: first the drawing, followed by watercolor wash. Text on left. Text in upper right on Maurice. Text in lower right beginning 'you can probably imagine..'. Text over head of drawing. Followed by the title in upper left.
So, you can see, there's not a whole lot of linearity to it. Which explains a lot if you're someone like a psychologist & is simply a random curiosity if you're not...
